“Churches” these days generally revolve around putting on scripted weekly “services” where marginal (at best) Christians can experience either:
Pseudo-spiritual intensity that feeds their carnality;
A monopolizing monologue that feeds their passivity;
Or both.
Those same “churches” then wonder why their people never grow up to become the multi-gifted, multi-functional, multi-part Body of Christ like the New Testament commands.
It’s a vicious trap.
